Words of Thanks
Link to the Ratha Yatra Album
I know it is appropriate to pen a few words of appreciation to the countless devotees and friends whose participation and cooperation was essential to make this year’s Ratha Yatra parade and festival a wonderful and magical experience for so many. I would first like to thank my preceptor, Srila Prabhupada, for his inspiration, example, and direction to hold this gala event for the pleasure of Lord Krishna as Jagannatha Swami. When Lord Jagannatha smiles, we all smile.
Then there are the devotees and friends who planned, organized, and labored for months both publicly and behind the scenes for long hours, especially on the days leading up to the festival. You graciously took so much trouble with no material motive, spurred on by jus t the hope of enhancing Lord Jagannatha’s smile. I tip my hat to you.
I thank the husbands and wives who endured inconvenience while their partners rendered some needed service. I thank the children and parents who allowed themselves to be swept up in the enthusiasm of Ratha Yatra. I thank the performers, workshop presenters, pujaris, chanters, dancers, servers, cart pullers, decorators, vegetable cutters, cooks, and other volunteers who provided a sublime devotional atmosphere for the whole event by their dedication. I thank the donors who parted with their hard-earned lakshmi during an economic recession. And I thank all those who attended and wished us well. You gave us a delightful opportunity for spiritual exchange and dialogue.
I hope in our recklessness or enthusiasm we did not step on too many toes. We beg forgiveness from those on whose toes we inadvertently trod.
To all: Great job! Jaya Jagannatha!. Thank you. Hare Krishna.
Your servants,
Vishnugada dasa and the Ratha Yatra Commmittee

About Maha Mantra
Hare Krsna Hare Krsna
Krsna Krsna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare
These three words, namely Hare, Krsna, and Rama, are transcendental seeds of the
maha-mantra. The chanting is a spiritual call for the Lord and His internal energy,
Hara, to give protection to the conditioned soul. This chanting is exactly like
the genuine cry of a child for its mother. Mother Hara helps the devotee achieve
the grace of the supreme Father, Hari, or Krsna, and the Lord reveals Himself to
the devotee who chants this mantra sincerely.
